Gluing banding into a strip to create an accent. I first routed a 1/4 inch groove into the strip, then glued the banding in while matching the pattern.

With lighter strips on either side of the accent strip, it looks great. We will see if I still feel that way when it comes to spoke shaving and sanding.

So far, the stripping has been fairly easy. We are starting to approach the compound bends soon though.

Progress has been slow getting around the waterline with the narrow twists at the stem and stern. The lines are starting to straighten out now, and the canoe is starting to take shape!

For some reason it is very satisfying to see a nice true center line trimmed
