So, in early April, the mold was all set up at Toronto's International Centre and, amid the crowds, Al began the learning process. Trial by Fire !

We were located under the shell of a timber frame cottage surrounded by all sorts of cottage related products. Al is WAY in the background.

By the end of the second day, Al was laying on rows of strips and answering questions as though he had been doing this for years.

Working with our Jurek Okon, the team got about 20 rows in place in one day. The fellow at the bow end is David Feindel who began his Whitehall at the same show one year ago and came by to help and to answer questions.

At the end of day 2, they were up to the midline anad began closing over the one side up to the midline.

April 3-in Southern Ontario!- was a miserable day with snow and sleet. But that did not deter Al. Early in the morning, he, Jurek and David Feindel were fast approaching the closein of side one.

Once the glue has dried it's time to take out the staples-an esy job but there are a lot of staples>

Then comes the spoke shaving to begin smoothing the hull surface. With a little practice this becomes straight forward.

..and then it's time to fill in the staple holes anas any small gaps. Minimizing excess "fill" is key.
