This is so very typical of the Georgian Bay shoreline-endless granite rock,white pines and water.

Like a ghostly apparition of times past, the Canot du Nord,with its crew of six, passes over historic waters.

This was the same part of Canada where the fur trading voyageurs made their ardurous paddles in bark canoes.

Although the canoe is 25 feet long, the space inside was very filled up.

With John Healy in the bow setting the paddling rhythm, we moved along rather comfortably.

With some 500 islands in this group, it can get to feeling as though we were in a giant maze.

It was very hot so a tarp shelter over the cooking area created some shade.

We found some great swimming/jumping rocks which proved to be a great way to cool down.
