With some very light basswood strips on the bottom, the hull is now completely stripped.

To prepare the hull for sanding, we use the venerable old spokeshave to fair out the hull shape.

And, with the 8 inch soft pad sander, Jurek does the first machine sanding to really smoothen out the hull.

Now, with the hull sanded and cleaned, Pat Frenette is rolling out the 10 ounce fibreglass cloth.

It a takes a crew of four to apply the W.E.S.T. epoxy resin which bonds the cloth to the wood.

After two more coats of epoxy were applied,the hull is left to cure for 4 days. Here, we are lifting the hull free from the station molds.
